The Experience
Getting great portraits is more to do with what goes on before, during and after you hear the shutter click, than that split second that you smile.We believe in giving you not only fantastic photos but also an incredible portrait experience. From the first time you call or pop in, to when you collect your photos we hope that our relaxed, fun, professional ethos comes across every step of the way.
Most people would freely admit that they hate having their photos taken, we believe, with our fresh approach, that by the time you leave us, you’ll have enjoyed the whole portrait experience (even the paying!).
Our job is to make you as relaxed and comfortable as possible. We hope that once you get in front of the camera (with Paul rolling around the floor trying to get the best angle – this being a sight in itself to behold!) you are actually looking forward to viewing the photos. And before you know it you’ll be sitting in our modern, relaxing, viewing room (with a tea or coffee and a biscuit or two!) actually excited about seeing yourself on the big screen!
So if you are nervous about having your photos taken or just want to see us and the studio for yourself then please do pop in sometime to have a look around. Hopefully you will get a feel (and enjoy) the way we work and the way we will do (almost!) anything to try and get the best possible photos we can, whilst making sure every part of the process makes you feel as special as you deserve to!
About Paul
Pauls background is in media and business management, this is reflected not only in the slick way in which his MEP studio is run but also by taking a look at how quickly the many different branches of his photographic businesses have grown.
Photography has been a hobby of Pauls since University. However it wasn’t until Paul went across to digital, just over six years ago, that he started to get serious.
Like many photographers it was encouragement from friends and family that led to the belief in himself that he did have something special about his photographic style that set him apart from others.
In 2003 that Paul successfully launched his 1st photographic business, ‘Digipix”, dealing exclusively in landscapes. It was immediately apparent that landscape suited Paul’s style, artistic eye and attention for detail. Paul’s love for photography especially digital was cemented and Paul found pleasure in the ability to shoot hundreds of photos in a single session allowing the freedom and experimentation that film never had. Although this has led on to many other ventures this is still Paul’s passion, which he indulges in, in what little free time he has!
From landscape photography it seemed a natural progression to go into wedding photography especially when photos taken at friends and family weddings were remarked upon “to be on a par with that of the professional wedding photographer”. And thus in 2005 ‘Precious Moments – wedding photography’ was born. It’s Paul previous experience in graphic design (he owns ai productions – a graphic design company) that allows him to visualise shots that a lot of people cant see. His fast shooting style also suits the candid style of photographs that really capture true emotion. Something many of the bride and grooms Paul has photographed have commented on.It was always an aspiration of Pauls to one day have a studio as he had been doing mobile portraits (taking portrait photographs in peoples homes) for a number of years. In 2008 he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take over MEP studio. Since then Paul has continued to build upon the exceptional reputation that MEP already had. With new incentives, products, competitions, and a whole new look to the studio, Paul hopes to keep this well established business going strong with a element that can not be replicated anywhere else –Paul!
It seems each stage of development has led on to the next and with each new business has come challenges and new goals to achieve. This has allowed Paul to develop professionally into the unique kind of photographer he is. Now a member of the MPA he feels that gaining the qualifications will push him further. There has always been something different about Pauls style, whether it is the ease at which he puts people, the fact that he is willing to do almost anything for the perfect shot –he has been known to wade waist deep into the sea to capture a ‘stunning sunset’, that he has such a wide variety of experience or simply his passion for photography that is infectious.
So, whats make MEP special and stand out from the crowd? The answer is Paul himself!
FAQ's
- Is there anywhere to park near the studio?
Yes there is. There is a large public car park directly opposite the studio. - How many photos do you take and how long is a session?
We generally take around 100 images during a one hour session. From those 100 images around 30 images are selected and then cleaned up and personally designed for you. During your viewing you will be treated to a slide show of these images for you to make your selection from. - Will there be anywhere for us to change clothes?
Yes. It is a good idea to bring a change of clothes as you can potentially get two sessions for the price of one. For young children especially, a change of clothes helps as accidents do happen. - How long does the viewing last?
A viewing generally lasts upto an hour. - What should I bring to the viewing?
Please bring your partner and any other family members. Full payment is required when you place an order, please enquire for payment options. - Can I bring my children along to the viewing?
We love children and don’t mind you bringing them to your viewing. However, if you have the option you may find it easier to concentrate without them! - Can I view my images straight after the photo shoot?
Unfortunately not. We are a professional studio and finish the images to a very high standard. Once your images have been taken, they are then cleaned up and designed into unique photographic designs especially for you, and this takes time. We will usually arrange a separate viewing session with you for the week after your photo shoot. - What if someone is sick or unable to attend and I have to cancel?
We understand that at times there can be certain situations beyond your control. If someone in your group is sick or unable to attend, we require as much notice as possible. - When will my portraits be ready?
Generally, your order will take around six weeks from your order date. - How often should we revisit?
You may come back in at any time, and as children grow up so quickly, it is also a good idea to do so. To get the most out of your time, money and children however, we recommend you come back to see us every two or three years. - What shall I wear?
Most people know what clothes suit them, but remember the focus of the picture should be you and not what you’re wearing. Loud or busy patterns should really be avoided, while shoes, and even socks should not be overlooked as a variety of full length and close-up shots may be taken. For this reason don’t wear training shoes.

We offer a wide range of diverse services which have grown from the work we have be given on recommendation, whether its our core studio based work, to commercial and corporate work, through to publicity, schools & nurseries. If you require any specific photography work as we will either be able to undertake the work or using our network of photographers be able to put you in touch with someone.
Nursery & School Photography
We offer you a unique package of fundraising opportunities for your nursery to compliment our excellent photo services, making sure that the parent benefit from a range of stunning photographs through out the year and a fantastic range of products , but that the nursery benefits from using a well established local company to provide a bespoke service.
A typical yearly package would include 5 shoots per year along the following lines:
School style photos
Posed photos taken on a sky blue background and offered in school style packages of prints, products and sizes.Black & White ‘at play’
A wonderful selection of black & white photos of the children playing outside in the summerEnd of year party
Often the end of year themed party is a great chance to get the whole class together for a photo as well as some individual shots of the children in fancy dress etc.
Christmas party
The classic photos of the kids receiving a present from father Christmas in a grotto type scene, smile and wonderful Christmas memories.Calendar shoot
Bespoke calendars, 12 themed photos to make a wonderfully unique present in time for Christmas presents!
These are just a sample of popular shoots that we do regularly, our services are completely flexible in terms of packages, times of year, pricing and products.Publicity & Promotion
We have covered a wide range of publicity from hospitals, press events to product launches and coverage of events for agencies.If you have any specific requirements please let us know. we typically aim to have photos online for your download and use within 4 hours of the event and can provide instant online photos as well as instant touch screen viewing of the files if the client is present.
Commercial Photography
We do a wide range of commercial photography across various industries, from filters and on location shoots at hotels and bed and breakfasts to food and clothing.
Either in the studio or on location we produce the same high quality images for your company, utilising the design background of Paul Inskip to work to a brief or help advise you creatively what will work for the particular product/situation.

Event Photography
We have been doing event photography for many years now and have a slick set-up which can be scaled to the need of any party, occasion or event.
Whether you want some on location photos at a birthday party of you have having a ball or party with 1000+ people we can scale to meet your needs, both interms of equipment and products.
All our events offer professional instant photos printed on industry leading Mitsubishi dye-sublimation printers, offering us professional lab quality prints in around 20 seconds! On the night we offer a range of different products for people to take away there and then, no order forms or long wait.
We also offer a wide range of options for people to order on the night and we will post them out within 5 working days at no additional cost, we also have special items that are only available via mail order.
Most importantly we offer a very freidnly and fun approach to event photography that will compliment your occasion and make it all the more memorable.

Specialist Passports & Visas Photographs
We do a large number of photos for visas and passport particularly when the sizes of photos needed are not normal passport size. Also some visas require the photos to be signed and taken by a professional photographer, and lastly some people just hate the passport booths!
We have a large range of the specific requirements for different countries passports/visas here but if you have been given specific instructions please let us know and bring them with you.
If you need passport and visa photos please give us a call. Prices start at £20 for four photos.
We also specialise in Baby Passports. Getting your baby to sit still in a booth and get a photos that will be ok for a passport is very tricky but as we have the space, facilities, patience and experience we know just how to make sure we can get a suitable baby or toddler passport photo.

A Passion for Baby & Newborn Photography
We are one of only 300 photographers in the country who are part of the National Cherubs scheme run for over 18 years by the Master Photographers Association. Our studio is arguably more set-up for babies than it is for families with everything from toys for all ages to wall mounted changing facilities. Everything about what we do is to make sure you and your baby have a wonderful time and we pride ourselves as being one of the best baby photographers in the south, The was realised when Paul became Baby Photographer of the year 2011 (South East Region)

Treasure your new baby’s wonderful first year forever with studio photos.As part of ‘the baby club’ your baby is photographed three separate times during his/her first year. After the final photo session you will receive a beautiful folio. It contains three images recording the development of your child.

Just book your three sittings with your Paul – a qualified member of the MPA. After each sitting, you choose the picture you want to keep for the folio. After the third studio visit you will receive FREE the professionally mounted, Mario Asserboni folio. Actual size 170mm x 560mm unfolded (7 x 24 inches) with your choice of shaped frames holding 130mm (5 inch) prints. Your folio will stand as a frame and folds into its own box to keep safely.

We don’t do boring traditional photos we try and have as much fun as possible as this will come across in the photos and the lasting memory of the day. We’ll have you leaping and lying on the floor, cuddling and crouching and anything else that will make for a good shot! At all time however we will tailor the shoot to your needs and the needs of all the individuals in the shoots, making sure babies, brothers-in-law and great grand parents feel involved and comfortable.
Whatever the occasion and we encourage you to wear clothes that you feel comfortable in (and bring a change of clothes with you if you would like – as well as props and pets too!) The session truly is all about you and your family and making sure we capture you all at your best because its as important for us to make sure you look good, remember the fun time and treasure the photos as it is for you.

The Studio
The Studio is a fun and relaxed place, and we have plenty of toys and props to keep the little ones amused (including Dad’s) and to bring out their best during the Studio session. The studio is deceptively large with the small shop front hiding our 100ft long building including our large studio, dedicated viewing room with projector (almost like being in the cinema – but more comfortable!), our office and print room where we prepare all our own prints.
The Studio has facilities for baby changing (and for adults too!). We have plenty of space too so we can have lots of fun and try lots of things to make your photo session a fun memorable occasion.
The Viewing Lounge is a comfortable area where you choose which images to have framed. Teas, coffees, soft drinks, sweets and biscuits are all available and help to make choosing your photos as much as an experience as having them taken in the first place!
Very important to know is that we have a large pay-and-display car park directly opposite our Studio.
